lace was all over the spring 2014 runways and no one did it better than christopher bailey at burberry prorsum. in the age of the super casual, where the email has replaced the handwritten everything, bailey pulled lace off the shelf and made it a super fabulous but casual everyday piece.
wait, back it up.
lace for daytime casual wear? yes, virginia. and, as you scroll through these pics, the take away should not be “go out and rock your biggest pair of granny panties under a sheer lace skirt.” The take away is that lace is no longer for evening wear. Tuck a crisp white button down with the sleeves rolled up into a pastel lace skirt, throw on a summer sandal and grab a clutch for a chic casual vibe that will take you from work to cocktails any day of the week. or, tuck in a cap sleeve t-shirt and buckle on your favorite summer wedges for a really great “i can go anywhere in this outfit” look. (lupita, that’s two tucks.)
below are some of my favorites from the burberry prorsum spring 2014 runway. then, i pulled together options to get you started with your shopping . . . you girls should know, though, that there are pray few lace skirts out there south of $1000 (you read that right). so, get them while they are hot (and cheap)!!!style.com]
