about the net-a-porter channel on youtube? girl, grab your ipad, brush your minecrafter to the side, and pull up this awesome “how-to” channel. granted the posting is irregular (so you have to check for updates), but – srsly – everything they post on the net-a-porter youtube channel on fashion and make-up is major. (i am not as blown away by the feature articles on people or events). kim hersov and gabrielle hackworthy are fashion editor and director, respectively, at net-a-porter.com and they hook you up with the down-low on how to take a runway look or a recent fashion trend and work it for real life. i wonder whether you will still need me after this tip?
another amazingly helpful series on the net-a-porter youtube channel is “make-up masterclass” from charlotte tilbury. because, who has time for make-up lessons? not me. or so i thought. i regularly waste more time scrolling instagram than it takes to watch one of these videos. and, turns out, it actually IS very helpful to have someone walk you through make-up application (instead of assuming, as I always have, that i could just wing it). selfridges calls charlotte “the most sought after makeup artist in the world” who is credited with making models and celebs like kate moss look amazing. her series can teach you how to do the smokey eye, the dewy cheek, the sun-kissed face, the pouty lip, and everything in between. throw in a local sephora and you can really get down to business. my makeup skills have increased 10X just by watching charlotte. for reals. (and, do not be scared off by charlotte’s personal make-up application, which appears with a harder edge – entirely at odds with the dewy and ethereal faces she creates for others). check it out. and, you’re welcome.
