#nyfw recap2 . . .

high waists, slit skirts, stripes, and volume. those are the runway trends for the past two days. i have to say, i do not know when i have been more excited . . . fashion is really having a moment. below, i have hooked you up with the fave’o’fave — my favorites from my favorite collections so far. enjoy!

first up . . . peter som

greens and blues are major players for spring. this look from som is perfection — a fantastic silhouette.

considering my favorite color is orange, this one had me at hello. i expect we’ll see this one on a red carpet in the near future . . .

jason wu

i am crazy for this sophisticated color palette of cream/olive/caramel. the collection was very beautiful and very elegant. LOVE.

there have been some major looks in deep marine/navy for spring. totally dope. navy/black is one of my all time favorite color combos. and this little suede number is amazing.

brand to watch . . . tanya taylor

tanya taylor was announced as a cfda/vogue fashion fund finalist earlier this summer. i can see why from this collection. some superstar looks there, including this one. love the pop of orange and the modern lines of this combo. the cut of this skirt is of the moment. everyone has a version. note to self — find a slit skirt and buy it.

wes gordon . . .

wes gordon seems to be trying to figure out just who he is as a designer . . . and if this collection is it, i’m in! i love the buttercream looks . . .so fresh and flattering and the lines are perfection.

note to self — part hair in middle, pull back in low ponytail for spring . . .

brand to watch . . . nonoo

misha nonoo’s spring collection is turning out to be one of my favorites. . . i love the volume and the clean lines . . . i could totally see myself living in these pieces . . .

i loved monique lhuillier’s collection of flirty frock’s but this one captured my imagination. . .

the favorite son . . .altuzarra

jospeh altuzarra did not disappoint. the collection was a perfect storm of sexy and sophisticated. but the stripes were to big story for me. love a stripe, and these were really good ones.

this may be my favorite look of the entire collection. and let’s talk about this shoe . . . we haven’t seen anything like this in forever. wow.

high waists, y’all . . .alexander wang

every skirt and every pair of pants i have seen so far has a high waist. . . no one accentuated it more than wang. . .so pull ’em up girls, pants are riding high . . .
