#nyfw recap wrap up

whew! #nyfw concluded last night with a bang as always with the marc jacobs show. i see us wearing a lot of navy, buttercream, and white, of course, next spring. it is pretty clear we are all going to be buying some culottes, a slit skirt, and some wider leg pants. and, you might have volume up top OR you might just be buying a crop top to pair with a high waisted skirt or pant (oh, yes! i did just say that!). stripes, well, what can i say? after one week, stripes were so overdone that i am done . . . but then, again, i am kind of crazy for stripes. my favorite trend has to be the butterceam palette combined with the new, fuller volume cuts. this just feels really fresh and stunning. . .

so as #lfw and #pfw and #mfw begin to sequence (#lfw is starting NOW), i will hit you back with just my favorites from the best shows . . . definitely be on the look out for chloé and céline, my two tippy, tippy top favorites.

what are your thoughts on spring 2015? let us hear your comments!!! and don’t forget to like our post!!!

the row . . .

The_Row_spring-2015-look-29

the row always takes a month or two to digest before you come around to the genius in it. so, if you aren’t exactly blown away, just wait. the buttercream looks were my favorites from the collection and i think this and the following look were my favorites overall.

another look from rosie with perfect pitch . . .

rag and bone . . .

rag-bone-spring-2015

rag and bone put out a great collection but this look is my favorite for the cut and butter-creaminess. so cool it is killing me . . .

veronica beard . . .

veronica-beard-spring-2015

veronica beard is increasingly one of my favorites. this look really captures THE silhouette for spring. . .

michael kors . . .

Michael-kors-spring-2015

kors had a pretty good collection, though I was not as blown away by the blue and yellow prints as I was the looks from his more neutral palette. this look, to me, is classic kors, all american refined chic. love.

this silouette keeps recurring and no one has done it better for spring than kors. it doesn’t get any better than this. . .

tory burch . . .

tory-spring-2015-look-29

tory had a pretty good collection. this and the following looks were my favorite. she seems to be able to consistently deliver sportswear that hits the mark between cool and preppy. well done.

elizabeth and james . . .

Elizabeth-James-spring-2015

mary kate and ashley olsen’s diffusion line, elizabeth and james (named for their parents) is having a moment for sure. these two looks capture spring 2015 in a nutshell: high waisted skirt, cropped top, stripes, culottes, volume. boom! done! love!

marc jacobs . . .

marc-Jacobs-spring-2015

marc jacobs did an awesome job of bringing up the rear . . . his army of bobbed brunettes in military inspired volume was fascinating to watch . . . kind of considering cutting my hair . . . his looks in deep teal, navy, and buttercream captured my fancy . . . but I am just not yet sold on big buttons . . . what do you think?

The buttercream pallette is beautiful and the culottes will be a hit just like they were in the 70’s – Bianca Jagger was a huge fan!

  2. Hilda Trapp says

I love th micheal kors below the knee with the crossover purse. And so many of the styles could be altered (and will be) for the over 60 crowd, and that certainly is not always true.

tell us what you think!!!
