when i say this is one of my favorite rooms, like, EVER i am not exaggerating. the hours i have spent just staring at these pictures, studying. . . . what is this alchemy? it’s fresh and modern but yet its patched together with very traditional, if not old-fashioned, elements. it’s subtle and yet in so many ways it is so bold. it is so laid back and yet every detail is just perfect and crisp. how can you do this???
well, for starters you combine an amazing architect like peter pennoyer with an incredible location like amagansett. and then you throw in one of the world’s best designers like jacques grange. . .
it’s no secret that jacques grange is a genius and i am certainly not the first to fall under his spell. he apprenticed under madeleine castaing and has decorated for scions and kings for decades (check his bio here). to say that he is my favorite decorator is about as special as being a young girl professing her undying love for One D: me and everyone else in the world, right? in that same vein, i won’t bore you with talk of how he is pure magic, pulled from the heavens, or just dreamy. i will leave it at this: somehow, he has captured the fine art of not trying too hard. his rooms leave you with the gut feeling that the owners ooze style from their pores and that they give no effort to being chic or stylish; it just happens. effortlessly. wow.
below, i have hooked you up with a visual delight that is the main public room of the jacqueline sackler’s house on long island. if you are dying to check out the full house, you can do so here. and while you are there, be sure to check out other jaw dropping spaces and places by peter pennoyer. if you are intrigued by the inhabitants of such a chic beach cottage, jacqueline sackler and her family, get the full story here.
jacqueline sackler lounges on the sofa of her amazing cool amagansett beach cottage. clearly, pure style and chic oozes from her pores.
are you dying??? me too!!
