i’ve expressed this sentiment before. sometimes i just get to the point where i have to complete something. i always feel like i have a stack on my desk at work that never goes down; there’s the laundry at home that never ends and million projects around the house that i just don’t seem to get to. so every now and then i have to pull out articles i’ve saved from southern living and commence to get my hands dirty.
i bought this clay pedastal from elegant earth here in birmingham this past winter. i’ve had it filled with green apples but decided this would be the perfect project to make me feel like i’ve accomplished something. now mine has a watering hole in the bottom so i took the plants out of their plastic and placed into potting soil. if your container does not have a watering hole then simply leave the plants in their container.
it was really easy and i’ve posted the steps below.
step two: i used an assortment of begonias and ivy; but you could use calla lilies, mini hydrangeas. your imagination is your only limitation.
step three: use a little peat moss for a little extra color and a finishing touch. lots of options here as well.
voila! the finished project!
thank you to leaf n petal who pointed me in the right direction and then steered me back on track when i started to drift. i know there is a place for the big box stores but for me a local garden store is a better alternative because you are guaranteed to have someone who knows what they are talking about.
