the six pairs of jeans you must have

six pair of must have jeans

this past weekend my daughter and i were doing a little fall shopping. we were on the hunt for jeans so it got me thinking about the jeans i have and the ones that i need. now my list of six does not include white jeans. it’s past labor day and i know people say that we can wear them past labor day but white jeans just do not do it for me so i’m always glad to put them away. “jorts” are also not on my list nor are daisy dukes. i’m 44 people and those looks passed me a long time ago and let’s just say “jorts” never made it into my rotation (thank goodness).

so my top six includes a flare, a gray (this is a great neutral) a skinny jean (to wear with the OTK), a straight up boot cut, a black jean (when you want to dress up, pair them with a sparkly top and a fab clutch and go) and a light denim wash which i have as a distressed (again not too distressed, my motto: a little goes a long way)

also when you go jean shopping take a couple pair of shoes you normally wear. are you going to wear these jeans with a wedge, a heel,  a boot? you want to see how the jean pairs with the shoe you are going to wear it with. don’t be afraid of your tailor. jeans/pants are the number one thing that i have to always take to a tailor but the extra expense and time makes the pair of jeans one that is in front of the closet and not one that stays in the back of your closet looking sad.

the other thing is that i didn’t include what i think of are trends in the denim world… the embellished jean, the quilted look or a pair with lots of zippers. if you want to try these then go to the gap or to zara. see if you like the trend before you invest a lot of money. the six jeans here are ones you want to invest in because you will have for a long time.

  1. Frame flair jeans
  2. 7 for all mankind skinny jeans
  3. Paige black jean
  4. Citizen of Humanity gray jean
  5. J Brand Boot cut jeans
  6. Current Elliot light wash jean with distressing
