Wicked, wild and wonderful . . .

Are you a fool for crazy good flowers?  I know.  Me too.  It’s heady.  I get a little weak in the knees, a little bewitched, when they are good.  And, when you see amazing flowers, all of the sudden you know that wherever you are or whatever you are doing, or did, is special and important.

How much more this is true of the flowers of Emily Thompson.  Her flowers and arrangements look like they were created by forest fairies or pixies that steal flowers from the gardens neighboring the forbidden forest to conjure arrangements for their wild and magical parties deep in the wood.

So, maybe I get a little carried away when I see her flowers.

But, then again, so does everyone else.  That’s why Emily Thompson counts the White House, the Frick and a thousand other celebrities and A-listers among her clients.

And, guess what???  She is coming to Birmingham!  Next week!  To our very own Birmingham Botanical Gardens!

Antiques at the Garden is my hands, down, without exception, favorite event in Birmingham every year.  Somehow, some way, the folks on the Board at the BBG’s Fall Party pull a rabbit out the hat every single year, enticing A-listers from over the world to come to Birmingham for a day and share with us a bit of their magic.  This year is no exception.

Emily will be at the Gardens at 10:30am on Friday, October 2.  She is sure to serve up a slide show of immense proportions.  I am dying to see private photographs of all the celebrity weddings and events she has done recently.  And, you better grab your ticket today on line (buy it here) because her lecture is almost sold out.  Literally.  Run.  Like, now.  You have already missed out on her floral arranging workshop following the lecture, which is already totally sold out.

And, even if flowers aren’t your bag, the line-up this year is amazing with tastemakers and decorators of the highest order, like Bunny Williams and Tara Guerard to name a few.  (Check out the weekend line-up of events and get your general admission tickets online here).

And, because I love you, a super sweet scroll of just a few of Emily’s fantastic and fantastical creations. You might want to sit down for this.

Cant get enough?  Buy your ticket here and get ready for the show.
