“In” Print . . .

I guess it is true enough that when fashion dominants like Valentino, Gucci, and Saint Laurent all lean in on a fashion trend the rest of us are helpless, really.  All three of their Resort and Fall Collections were replete with prints in vibrant colors.  And, true to form, this Fall, the streets (where we look for inspiration, right??) are full of fab looking ladies rocking colorful prints.  The truth is, a print, when used sparingly (as in, limited to just one item) is a great way to keep your wardrobe from falling into doldrums.  A print adds complexity and depth.  A print adds sophistication.

Take this Mara Hoffman midi dress.  Really, who does graphic prints better than she?  I can see this dress working through the Fall with your ankle boots or these fab wrap sandals and maybe this faux fur bomber (which is also cool it is killing me)???  Shut. Up.

Or this embroidered mini by Zara or this one from Topshop — either would be fab with a pair of OTK boots, like these, or as a tunic with a pair of destroyed Levi’s like these and some ankle boots like these.

Add this Tory Burch blouse or this one from Topshop with a pair of dark, high-waisted jeans like these and this cape and you are guaranteed to turn heads from the grocery store to dinner out with friends.

Try this fab Gucci knock-off by Topshop with a leather skirt like this one, these fab shoes, and borrow your Mom’s vintage Gucci bag like this one and you are ready for the streets of NYC.

Or pair this graphic skirt from Topshop with a tailored turtleneck like this one from J.Crew (only $85 plus 25% off with the code (find it here)) with a killer pair of knee-boots like these TB Sarava ones (I’m obsessed with these boots!!!) and maybe a coat like this one thrown over your shoulders for go-to work sophistication.  Dying.

Now’s the time for you to lean in on a print.  I guarantee you will find a million ways to make it work.  And, to be sure, I’ve hooked you up with some street inspiration (and just a couple of runway picts).  Enjoy!  And, get in there!!
