So this time next week, I will be on Spring Break with family and friends and looking forward to a much needed get away. I’m starting my packing list which always means a few new purchases. But I know it can be an expensive time of year so here are a few ideas which can go from must to lust depending on what your budget allows. I also love mixing up high end and lower end items. It’s more fun that way. I’m a big fan of a lightweight scarf for Spring. You can wrap it around your neck or your shoulders to add a little more layer. I found this one from Banana Republic or if you can this light weight cashmere scarf from Rag and Bone is a beautiful color and will definitely travel well. We’ve talked about shorts before. I feel the same way about shorts as I do about swim suits. I really don’t care about the cost but if I feel good about myself in them then here is my credit card. I’m a big fan of Theory shorts. They lay really well on me but these from Banana Republic will do just fine as well.
A few thoughts. I promise Caroline and I are going to do a post about white jeans but let’s face it, trying on white jeans with no tan is just too depressing so look for that in April but in the mean time I’ve hooked you up with two classic, these flares from Gap and these white jeans from J Brand. Either pair won’t take you in the wrong direction. Second, I’ve posted a lot of items from Ann Taylor Loft. I’m a fan of the store for both my daughter and myself. Some of their items even fit me better than the higher end brand. A couple of my favorite pieces that I found was this sweater which I swear looks just like this one from Vince or even this one from Rebecca Taylor. Here is another example. Check out this shirt from Ann Taylor Loft. I had seen this Vince Shirt and this Bella Dahl shirt (both of which are so soft) but I missed out on the purchase so when I saw this AT Loft shirt (that is just as soft) the smile returned to my face.
Finally, if you have room for a splurge think about a pair of Pedro Garcia wedges. I know it is a big ticket item but you will get your money’s worth. I have a pair that I wear all the time and get compliments wherever I go but listen I know it is not in everyone’s budget which is why I got budget friendly pair as well. (see here) I’m just saying the Pedro’s are easily justifiable. One of my favorite items is this Maxi dress by One for Pink Stitch. At $93.00 it is a no brainer. Another one by AT Loft, this Maxi dress is flattering and one that you wear throughout the summer but for a real showstopper this maxi dress from Camilla is da bomb! Have fun because isn’t that what it is all about.
