After a little break this summer it is nice to get back in the swing of things but I can’t believe school is back in session this week. So I’ve had several requests of what should the teen wear back to school. I represent corporations at work and make difficult decisions every day but there is nothing more difficult than dressing the teenage girl and I can feel Clueless but I certainly don’t want my daughter to dress like Cher and Dionne. So I went to my sources and I thought I would share a few ideas.
So a line I love for the teenager girl is BLANKNYC. Nordstrom has a great selection of this brand. The price point is great and the fit works really well for the teenage body. I love these Moto Utility pants. Pair them now with a t-shirt and a pair of these Converse Chuck Taylors in Lagoon; in the fall pair them with a sweater and a pair of booties.
What about a pair of jeans. These distressed patch boyfriend jeans are a must. A grafiti shirt (I love Target’s graffiti t-shirts) now and when the weather turns cool then a BB Dakota jacket Vegan Leather Jacket.
Rails shirts are the softest shirt that you can imagine. My suggestion is that you buy two and you and your daughter share. Also I love this Rails long shirt; I wouldn’t wear it all buttoned up; wear it like a jacket.
Another favorite line I love for this age is Bishop and Young. This suede skirt in slate blue is perfect for school and for a fancier event. Another suede piece is this suede paulina tank in raspberry. Pair it with this denim skirt from BlankNYC.
A couple of places to go shop online or in the store: try Fabrik (I particularly like these jogger pants and this plaid wrap); I also like Impeccable Pig ( check out this denim romper and this navy off the shoulder top). These two stores are great places to find a great outfit at a good price point because let’s face it no teenager wants to wear the same outfit twice.
