Drug Store Finds

                                                                     Drug Store Finds

There is something about finding makeup at the drug store for a fraction of the price of a department store that just gives me a high. Now I love some high end beauty buys but it is fun to mix it up.

This weekend I found a few items at Target that I thought I would share.

NYX Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown. I love this pencil. The color is great and easy to use. Easy to brush on and with the comb at the end your brows will look fabulous.

Lets face it, the older we get it is harder to find a concealer that does it job by hiding the circles but doesn’t get stuck in the the fine lines that we seem to develop. Cover Girl cg smoothers concealer may be the answer. It looks like a lipstick but doesn’t clump. Just dot around the eye and then take your pinkie finger and smooth. People will think that you had 8 hours of sleep. Just smile and nod politely

Cover Girl Outlast All Day Lip Color in Classic Red. A couple of weekends ago I wanted to help a black lace dress “pop” and decided that a red lipstick would do it. A statement lip is the shortest path to chic. I love this Cover Girl lipstick not just for the color but the lasting power.

A pretty pastel nail color is the perfect spring board to Spring. This past weekend I decided to finally ditch the dark red and got my toes painted a beautiful sky blue. Essie has some great pastel colors and at $9 a bottle you can afford to try a few different colors. I personally love this color, Fit and Flare.

Almay Healthy Glow. This gradual self tanning lotion is perfect as we gear up for Spring Break. No horrible smell and because of its gradual glow formula it isn’t too obvious what you’ve done.  No streaking allowed. A bonus it protects from UVA/UVB rays. Check and check.

Finally Wet N Wild Facial Setting Spray. For less than $8.00 this was a “find” that I just happened to be curious about. I had read about facial setting sprays but didn’t really understand what all the fuss was about. Well now I know… I’ve read that you can either use right after you apply your makeup in the morning or in the afternoon for a little pick me up. Personally I like to use in the afternoon. A quick reapply of makeup and a spray and I’m ready for whatever the rest of the day brings.

So there you go…Have fun and take the pennies saved and go have a cocktail with your friends.
