Not everything that glitters is gold…sometimes it’s silver

                                                                    Silver as a Neutral

The other night I was meeting a friend for drinks after work and she came in wearing the most fabulous silver shoes. She had worn them to work with a simple pencil skirt and short sleeve blazer. I was intrigued by the pairing and she explained to me that she treats her silver heels like a neutral. That comment has stuck with me. I love it. So I immediately went home and bought these silver heels from Schutz. I’ve worn them with a pencil skirt like my friend, with pants and even jeans. As a side note I came across the Schutz brand when I was looking for a new tan pump. I love Stuart Weitzman pumps but honestly I treat my pumps pretty harshly so I needed something at a lesser price point. The Schutz pumps are half the price and very comfortable. You can find the tan pump here.

Ok, but back to regular programing. Silver is big this fall and I’ve seen it all over the place. But shoes aren’t the only silver item you need to buy. Check out this blazer from Banana Republic. Again keep the rest of your outfit simple. I can see wearing this blazer with a black merino turtleneck and black jeans or a burgundy silk tie top like this one from Theory with a gray pencil skirt.

I know this is Sequin but a little bling never hurt anybody and if you are not ready to go full on bling, go try the Banana Republic blazer in velvet

For this post, I’ve only given you shoes and jackets. While silver is a neutral, you don’t want to wear it from head to toe. You have a tan pump in your closet but you aren’t going to wear tan from head to toe. Get it? Find all these items in the Shop the Latest Tab!
